How You Can Win A Full Ride Scholarship To Evolution Accelerator
You’ve got a great chance to win a full-ride scholarship to Evolution Accelerator. That’s a REAL value of up to $11,150.
But way more than the monetary value is the fully systemized fitness business you end up with when you graduate from Evolution Accelerator.
And the certainty and financial security that gives you. If you’re not familiar with Evolution Accelerator, watch this video here.
Here’s how this challenge works – how you can win the scholarship:
I’ve got a question for you below. It’s not a riddle. There’s no strange “twist” to it.
It’s a very straight forward question. And with a little thought, you’ll be able noodle it through. Or it might be nose-on-your-face obvious to you right off the bat.
Here’s the question:
There is a particular personal quality that every high achiever possesses.
Do you know what it is?
You should, because you have it in spades, as compared to the “average jane or joe.”
It may be your greatest personal quality – most certainly your greatest personal ASSET.
And whether you actually believe you have it or not, I assure you that you do.
I know this because you’ve already PROVEN that you have it.
You’ve proven it by doing something the vast majority of folks simply will not do.
What am I talking about?
What is this personal quality I’m referring to?
Here’s another hint…
All other things being equal…why does a former military man or woman have a definite edge over “civilians” in the job hunt? Why are former military personnel so prized by private sector employers? (Remember…all other things being equal.)
One final hint…
The Greek philosopher, Plato said something incredibly profound about this quality being “the first and best victory.” And the first American to summit Mount Everest, Jim Whittaker, used mountain climbing as metaphor to describe it.
Okay, lots of clues for you there. So now, here’s how you can win you a full-ride scholarship to Evolution Accelerator Profit Path Training Program valued at up to $11,150 (just depending on which Profit Path you choose).
INSTRUCTIONS:
In your blog comment below, write out…
- What personal quality am I describing above?
- Share one way this quality has impacted your life in a profound way.
- Give one reason why you want Evolution Accelerator.
That’s all there is to it. Pretty simple.
Everyone who gets the answer to #1 right (and gives a complete response including #2 and #3), will be entered into a random drawing for a full ride scholarship to Evolution Accelerator Profit Path Training Program……which is like getting your “fitness business MBA”…but even more valuable.
But you need to enter to win right away, we’re going to shut this contest down by the end of the day tomorrow.
Let’s see what you’ve got…answer away below in the comments section…

1) Self-discipline
2) Discipline gives me the fortitude to say yes when others say no. To keep going when others quit. To try again when Ive tried 1,000 times. To stick around long enough to see the pay off of struggle, sacrifice and hard work.
It has impacted my life because you become “a light” in a sense…in a world filled with people who do whatever, whenever, however.
Whether they admit it or not, YOU become an example of hope that they can do “it” too.
3) Im ready to stop fumbling around and use a proven method to make my dreams real.
1) Self-discipline
2) When I first started our bootcamp business I was working full-time in another profession, and had been training clients one-on-one. We started with one class at 5:00am in the -morning. It took some self-discipline to get up, teach that class, and work a 10 hour day – especially since that class had one paying client and 7 friends who were willing to put up with my “hare-brained” scheme.
Fast forward 12 months. We (my wife is a trainer as well) had grown to four classes a day, we had 3 kids under 5, and I was still working at the other job 8-10 hours a day. Took some self-discipline on to get it all done. Took some self-discipline to not take money out of the business, but rather invest it ALL back into the business so we wouldn’t have to borrow.
Fast forward almost another 9 months (today). We now have 8 classes a day, hired a trainer, and are looking to expand further. I credit that to the self-discipline (mine and Nancy’s) of doing the little things every day that most people don’t or won’t do. Get up early to run classes when nobody else will. Make the extra phone call, even if you suspect it will get you nowhere. Building relationships with people, even the ones that drive you nuts. Being disciplined, determined and driven enough to make it happen – no matter what. My prize was leaving my j-o-b and getting to do what I love.
3) I want Evolution Accelerator because while I am a business owner, I don’t want to leave the coaching behind. Every minute I can save with systems that work is one more minute I can spend helping people. The tools I already own from NPE have helped turn our self-discipline into results, by providing focus and actionable steps that we can take. I anticipate EA will take our business through the roof.
The quality high achievers share is EXCELLENCE!
Its pursuit has shaped my health, fitness, mind and approach to everything, making the journey fun, exhilarating, educational and spurred even more motivation and attracted like-minded people.
The reasons I need the EVOLUTION ACCELERATOR are: I need to reboot my business with new clients (the economy “receded” many of them) and I don’t have the marketing skills, only the training skills. Also, my wife and I are expecting our first BABY in May and I have plans to open a gym with a fitness “name” later this year, so I need to be ON IT!
Positive self image, beleiveing in yourself.
When I went through Auto Closer, I didn’t actually use the info I learned until a year after I finished it. I didn’t think that people would believe that I or my services were worth as much as I was asking.
I knew that my services were valuable and I was confident in my abilities, but I did not know if prospects would believe it. I also knew that I needed to show them that I had confidence in my abilities and services.
Once I worked on conveying that confidence, my sales abilities improved and I closed more sales. Now averaging 80% close rate.
I want to be a aprt of The Accelerator program to instill more accountability in myself to get more automated and systemized. This will help me flip more leads and reach my goal of helping as many people as I possibly can.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to potentially get this service for free.
What personal quality am I describing above?
Self- denial
Share one way this quality has impacted your life in a profound way.
I was able to train a client post rehab and bring him back to operational status. I did not expect payment. The best payment was to see him being able to do push ups pain free.
Give one reason why you want Evolution Accelerator
I need to learn more about marketing and growing my PT business.
Self-determination
When I first finished high school I did not know what I wanted to do. For the next four years I bounced from job to job and only amassed 28 college credits. Finally I realized I needed a change, I made the decision to ask for help to get my life on the right tract. With my parents help (the best they could do was put a roof over my head) I buckled down, took student loans, worked part time and finished my BS in Exercise and Sport Science from University of Florida in under three years. I also got my CSCS in that time, I have been in the field ever since. I am now debt-free and have a rewarding career doing something that I love.
I have hit a point that I need to move up to the big league. I have had a successful career but now I want more. More time, more stability and more success. With Evolution Accelerator, I am doing the same thing I have done once before in my life. ASKING FOR HELP and learning the skills I need to be better than I am now.
1.) Work ethic, dedication and discipline – or should I just say DRIVE
2.) I’ve been effected by the above in all aspects of my life. I am a commited and self driven person.
3.) Why do I want Accelrator? Do I efen have to answer this?
Simply because I know its what I need to take my biz to where it needs to be over the next 12 months
1. Self-Discipline.
2. In 1995, I was a skinny 15 year old kid who fell in love with the game of hockey. 11 years later, I became the first Elmira, NY native to play for our hometown professional hockey team. The way I was able to do this was through immense self-discipline. You see, self-discipline to me is simply focusing on what you’re trying to accomplish all the time. I learned quickly that trying to pick up girls or hanging out at parties wasn’t getting me to where I wanted to be, so I dedicated all of my free time to improving my weaknesses. That’s how greatness is attained: Turn your weakness into your strength. At everything.
3. Just one reason, eh? The biggest reason for me is because I already have the motivation and self-discpline. Those two traits are like an explosion. Now I need a system to focus that explosion, kind of like a gun.
1. “To conquer self” (self -descipline)
2 I have been profoundly impacted by self discipline because My father used to say to me when I was young “discipline yourself, so that others won’t have to” He didn’t invent that, but it was the first time I heard it and it changed my outlook on the effort i put into my life. I’m going to be in control of my success ( and failures) they begin and end with me.
3. I want to be a part of Evolution Accelerator because this is the program that will take our business from good to great. We’re a young business and we’re getting better, but we want to be the “measuring stick” in our area. Autocloser started that process for us, and now we’re ready to start building our complete system of operation.
Some really great comments coming in. Nice!
Conquering self.
Google is a great tool and I believe I found the correct answer.
Right or wrong, it made me think about what it means to “conquer self”. I interpret it as getting over what you considered safe and working outside the comfort zone to achieve ones goals.
I have always worked inside my comfort zone, staying safe, until late 2008 when I left my job as a fitness director to go all-in with my personal training business. This was going against everything inside me that said “do the safe thing”.
This was easily the greatest example of doing something that was outside of my character and it has obviously profoundly impacted my life. I am more of the person that took that chance than the person who was comfortable in his director job.
I want to be in EA because it will continue to force me to be the person, owner, trainer, and husband I need and want to be.
Thanks, Keith
I’m going to have to go with discipline for 300, please.
It’s discipline that’s carried me for 21 years in this industry through difficult times as well as successful times. Not backing down and quitting when things become difficult is the root of the discipline I speak of.
Over the years, I’ve built many systems (some great, some crap) for my business, but without a strong background in marketing, I lack the skills (not the discipline) to build systems on par with Evolution Accelerator.
1. Determination.
2. Determination, the strength of the mind. It is a process of deciding on or establishing a course of action that you will follow to reach the endpoint (your dream). I beleive to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe in themselves.
3. If am ready to start my journey to reach my dreams. I have the determination, just need the help on how to get there.
Perseverance is the one of my best qualities, if not my best. I have fought for everthing in my life. Nothing was ever handed to me. Along the way, I never thought twice about helping those around me.
A bitter-sweet childhood embomdied my perseverance. Too many times I came up short on my talent because as a teen i had no control of my family situation. In high school, I woke up at 4:45am and left a hotel room in a gang infested neighboor hood ( I shared it with my mother and infant sister). I would take my sister with stroller on a bus and travel 1 hr (with 2 bus changes) to take her to day care. Next I would take another bus 15 mins to school. I would go to school till 230. Have sport practice then pick up my sister and do the morning routine in reverse. Everyone who knew my situation saw failure all the way. Despite the odds, I recruited myself accademically and athletically. No help from a parent. I spent lunchtime and freetime to call and submit my scores to school (8-10 extra hrs a week on top of my normal routine). I also spent time at 11pm at night running to fight for a scholarship. It paid off when I was recruited by SF State. Unfortunetly, it wasnt enough and my family needed $$$$. I joined the Army.
I spent time in the Army to gain $$$ for family and college tuition. I was recruited by a local college baseball team in north carolina but had to decline inorder to be able to provide for my mother and sister. This really hurt because I had a childhood dream of playing college and possibly big league ball.
9 years later, after spending time in Korea and Iraq, i left to purse my game plan. Here, I am in Detroit with a strong passion for fitness and entrepreneurship. The Evolution Accelerator is a necessity. I need my business to succeed because my mother and sister still stay in a one room hotel. My sister is in hs and never had her own room. It hurts me to my heart to see the lack of $$$ and poor living condition. I spent 5 years planning for my business. I put in my time and have given up alot. I came to Detroit to relaunch my business after a stint in Louisiana. I came here after sacrificing everything. I broke my apt lease and had to give up my car(all the dealership to take it back) inorder to go somewhere for a better opportunity. I was sleeping on a buddy’s couch for 8 months with no $$ pursuing my business in Detroit. I didnt have to go through this suffering but knew I had the right idea, tools, and passion to make it happen. 2 years later my business is in effect and looking great. I still work another job and need Evolution Accelerator to take me over the top. This is not just for me…its for my mother, sister, and future family. I have to break this financial curse. I die trying.
Everyone says I have all the tools…like I should be on tv and that I be very succesful but something is missing in the link. I am a go getter. I have done amazing things in the past with my drive but thats another story. I apologize for making this so long. I just started typing and it flowed as you see. Thank you.
We’ve got some folks with the right answer! Nice job. But some are off the mark (although the qualities described are definitely great ones, they’re not specifically what I’m looking for).
Here’s another hint:
“The tough thing about learning _____________ is that we need ___________ in order to learn it.”
1) DESIRE.
2) It all started in college. My loving everything about exercise and what it could do for me. It’s amazing really- mental, physical and emotional well being are all affected by this one thing. Exercise can literally change a person’s life. It did mine. I set a goal (to change my physique), mapped out a plan, and did whatever it took (legally) to achieve it. Once I achieved it, I couldn’t believe how it made me feel. I looked back and realized that if I could do this, I could do anything I set my mind to. There’s something about the feeling you get after having a burning desire to achieve something and achieving it, that just can’t be topped. I’ve come to realize that being able to control your physique (or anything related to your body) by how you exercise and eat is one of the most empowering feelings on earth. Since graduating with a BS in Exercise Science in ’99 I’ve been trying to expose this “power” to every client I’ve ever had. I have also been trying to achieve this same feeling through my professional career. It has continued to elude me. I am chasing the satisfaction of achieving yet another one of my “lofty goals” and absolutely refuse to quit until I achieve it. My goal is simple. I just want to be the best I can be. Just like when I set out to do that bodybuilding show-it was never about the other guys on stage, it was always about me being in the best shape I could possibly be in. I knew if I did that I’d be the best on stage.
3) I feel that my degree in Exercise Science (along with the countless hours spent studying outside of “school”) help me achieve my goal. As you guys know, I have spent a lot of time and hours trying to get to where I want to go ($150,000 to and 2 years to be exact) and I still can’t get it. I’m a mess. (slow and stubborn learner) I know you guys hold the key to my success with this goal and I won’t quit chasing it until I’ve achieved it. Unfortunately I’m running out of time and money. Is Evolution Accelerator what finally delivers me?
The quality, desire and strength of character to conquer self. Self-Discipline, Self-control, Self-Efficacy, Self- Realization, Self-Love. The ability to own your own mind, transmute your thoughts, beliefs and pain into the motivation to be the best you can be and to live your DREAM!!
I was living a life of misery working in a job in an industrial setting that I despised and suffering the pain of a failing marriage. I had a fitness business on the side which was suffering and the mentality that it is impossible to make a good living in fitness. I also believed that it was somehow not appropriate to make money from helping other people find their health and self-worth. I believed it was my duty as a husband and a father to sacrifice my dreams in order to provide a roof over my family’s heads and provide the lifestyle to which they were accustomed. My self-worth was non-existent. No wonder I didn’t feel right about charging people to find theirs. I lost a great deal of weight and was severely depressed and spent a good two years not wanting to wake up in the morning. I had all but given up completely when I had the realization that I was response-able. I had created my life exactly as I was living it and if I had the power to create such misery, it seemed reasonable to me that I could create an equal and opposite life of joy and success. I made the choice to embrace my ability to respond to my situation and conquer it rather than allowing it to conquer me any longer. I quit my job and began to work in my fitness business. I took countless courses and read many books. I sold my house and invested in a property with a 1800 square foot gym and an indoor pool without having a single private coaching client to my name but with an attitude of faith that if I build it, they will come. I began to live my dream by doing exactly what I wanted to do with my life. And come they did. My schedule is full and I have never been happier.
However, in the process of building my Dream, I built an enormous amount of debt that includes over $40,000.00 in credit card debt alone at 19.5% interest. My schedule is full but we don’t have the income to cover the growing debt. I haven’t had the time to work on my business because I have been too busy working in my business. As a result I have created a job for myself and cannot expand my income any further. I love what I do dearly but it is not paying the bills such as they are and that is why I want EVOLUTION ACCELERATOR! My attitude continues to be one of great faith and I am certain that if I continue to move forward, take action and live by my values and principles, the answer and solution will come. Maybe this could be it!?!
With Gratitude,
Patrick
1. Self confidence
2. Deciding to branch out on my own in a very competetive market without a safety net besides my STRONG WILL & desire to improve the world- I took my confidence & did it! It was the motivation I needed to seek out NPE and stream line my processes & create programs that are efficient.
3. I am now wanting & needing to take it to the next level and evolution accelerator is the answer! I want to be your next poster child! Your tools are so effective, but this one will be the catalyst to my success!
Thank you for the opportunity!
Shannon
I personally don’t believe there is one word to describe what quality a high achiever possesses but a combination. The 1st and foremost is make a decision. One must DECIDE to go after what he or she wants in life. Once you’ve made that decision, one must COMMIT! Making a COMMITMENT is the most important ingredient to this equation! They say that nothing worth anything comes easy. Once you’ve made that commitment, everything else falls into place. That includes the passion, belief, determination and perseverance. There will always be obstacles in the way of whatever one goes after. Most will give up in the face of temporary defeat. However, the one who commits to whatever goal they have set forth for them self, will succeed! The saying “If there’s a will, there’s a way.” has been proven very true, time and time again.
My name is Andrew Restivo. I am 27 yrs old and I started powerlifting in June of 2009. At that time I weighed about 150 lbs at 5′ 10″ tall. I had been that same weight since I was a sophomore in high school. I’ve been teased for years about how skinny I was. I started lifting with the intention to gain some weight. Within 2 months, my lifting partner made me aware of a how close within reach I was of competing and placing in a professional meet in my weight class (165 and under) that was coming up in December. So I decided to step up the intensity of my training program. By October, I was already weighing 165 lbs. That meant I would have to compete in the next weight class (181 and under) which meant I would have to be that much stronger! I could have given up at that point, but I didn’t. I made a DECISION! I had to adapt and set new goals and kept on training. I trained 4 times a week and didn’t skip a beat. There were many days I was sore and didn’t feel like going to the gym. There were days that I was sick and could have stayed home, but I didn’t! I was DEDICATED! I kept pushing through! I had good workouts and I had bad workouts. Then came the day of the meet. December 5, 2009 USAPL Colorado State Championship/ American Open. Not only did I place, I won 1st Place State Champion 181 weight class unequipped! Along with that I set two new CO State Records for the unequipped Squat (343 lbs) and Deadlift (463 lbs)! All within 6 months of training. When I started training back in June, I could barely squat 155 lbs. and deadlift 285 lbs. I couldn’t have done it if I didn’t make the COMMITMENT to show up every training day, to do every exercise, every set and every rep. If I couldn’t get all my reps done in one set, I did more sets to compensate. I recently suffered a hernia back in January and put me out of commission for about 3 weeks. Since then I have bounced back and though I’m not 100% healed, I am almost there and back on track to compete in 2010 USAPL RAW NATIONALS in July to break my current records.
I want Evolution Accelerator because I have developed a PASSION for fitness! I want to use my passion to help others achieve goals and do things they never thought they could do. I want to help be a motivating factor in peoples lives! I am a union plumber for a living and have been laid off since Aug, 2009 and I doesn’t look good for going back to work any time soon. Besides that, I see how beat up the older guys are and all the physical problems they have. I DO NOT want to retire that way. I would rather spend my life feeding my passion and helping others.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Persistence. Persistence conquers all – even self!
However, it is really easy to give before it pays off. . .
1. Discipline.
2. Life is an engaging obstacle course that constantly throws up new challenges. Discipline enables me to put aside distractions and focus on the task at hand. Everything I have accomplished so far is because I had the discipline to work or study while others were consumed with having fun. I still had my share of fun but discipline helped me keep each thing in its proper place.
3. The problem I have is in figuring out what to do next to grow my business. I’ve got the discipline to implement the systems but I have trouble figuring out what the next thing to implement should be. I like the success pattern that it represents. That way I can just focus on implementation.
1. To conquer self through determination
)
2. I have never thought myself limited through my abilities. If I have never done something, I still believe that I can do it. I think I have a wonder woman complex…which I am happy to take on. An example from many would be that while I was in college I was told that I could not graduate within the time frame that I was proposing to my advisor. I proved her wrong when I did meet my goal and I graduated wtih a Bachelors degree in Finance at age 20. She came to my graduation to meet my family to tell them how amazed and astonished she was of my accomplishments.
3. I want to win the scholarship to the Evolution Accelerator Profit Path Training Program because A. I am just starting out my personal fitness company and I would love to start out full throttle. B. I think I would be a stellar student to apply what I know about business and really build onto it with how to find and appeal to the target market for fitness individuals with the information from this program to substantially increase the success of my company. I think my real weakness is sales. I do not have a huge amount of skills in sales, but I have a lot of drive and love to over deliver through everything that I do. I need to know how to get people in so that they can benefit by everything my business has to offer. C. I would definitely tell everyone I know around the country about this program…probably regardless anyways…but proof is always good to deliver too
1. What personal quality am I describing above?
Self control and the drive to succeed in spite of yourself.
2. Share one way this quality has impacted your life in a profound way.
I don’t give up. This is not my first time growing a fitness business. I lost a very successful business when I got sick a couple years ago. I have recovered and come full circle. Nothing can stop me now, not even me!
3. Give one reason why you want Evolution Accelerator.
I want Evolution Accelerator to become a better me. I want to learn and implement every tool available in order to achieve the success that I envision, deserve and will attain!
Andrew, I appreciate your thoughtful response, but let me clarify that I didn’t ask for a one word description of what a high achieve possesses, but rather “a particular personal quality that every high achiever possesses.”
High achievers obviously possess many personal qualities, but they ALL have this one quality in common (and probably other qualities to boot).
Then I went on to say how YOU (because of the nature of what you do for a living) have already proven you have this personal quality too (unless you don’t practice what you preach).
And then gave a few more hints to help you narrow down the choices and isolate the answer.
You made the accurate observation, “If there’s a will, there’s a way.” But what is it that FUELS the will? What quality, trait, characteristic, whatever you want to call it…gives you the strength to persevere. What is it that makes one “tough enough” to see things through to completion?
When you hear Sean and me talk about folks who are “squared away” – what quality is it that we are referring to?
The Quality is definitely discipline…or as your Plato reference would state it – “Conquering Self.”
I have perservered through a lot over the past 2 years…through determination, desire, and most of all…discipline. Back in 2008, I was losing my facility due to the building being sold. I was forced to move, which at the time seemed both stressful and exciting. Through the move, I lost about 10% of my clients. I didn’t think that was too bad. The vast majority seemed to value what I do so much, the extra travel didn’t bother them. BUT, I was moving to an area where there was a massive amount of construction going on. This was a major deterrant for incoming traffic. You literally had to drive past me about 3/4 of a mile and do a u-turn to even get into my driveway. Again…I figured I would just wait it out. When it was all said and done, I would be fine. THEN the economy started to tank…and fast. To say that new business was at an all time low would be an understatement. And did I mention that I am in a very saturated area with 6 gym/clubs within a 2 mile radius and not enough population to support them all? Things were at their worst in September of ’08. This has been my career path since 1994 and for the first time in my life I was thinking about hanging up my hat. But that thought didn’t last. I truly believed I get the ball going. I continued to hang on by a string all the way through to March of ’09…and trust me it made for a very stressful holiday season! But, through determination, desire, and discipline I built my business back up and I can proudly say that from March of ’09 to March of this year, I will have had my BEST year in business…EVER! For the first time I will have made a near 6 figure income (which I consider pretty good for an independent trainer in my region with no employess at all). And the way business is going, I truly believe that this year will be the year I make over the $100,000 mark!
Why do I want Evolution Acclerator? Not only do I think it is the tool to put me over the edge, but it is also a major turn-key in my next step – - being a studio owner/operator with a staff. Everything that NPE has provided me that I have applied has been worth gold. I would be a fool to think this would be any different.
Great…GREAT…story James. Awesome, brother! Thanks for sharing.
The personal quality you’re talking about is taking action quickly by conquering your inner fears. One reason why people fail is because they don’t take action. They stay in their comfort zone and don’t expand from that. It’s important that people are self-disciplined enough to continually take the necessary action to push themselves out of the box on a regular basis.
The way this personal quality has impacted my life is when I took action and stepped out of my comfort box to start my own boot camp business.
It was January of last year – right when the economy was in the tank – and both my fellow trainers and even some of my clients told me I was nuts.
Of course I could have listened to them and stayed and continued working the same boring hours and trading time for dollars.
But I wanted something more. I knew I wanted to help more people in my community get in shape then were inside the four walls of the gym. I just had to get past my own fears, and the fears that people were trying to impress upon me to get out there and make it happen.
Now a little over a year in business for myself, even though my business isn’t yet where I want it to be, it’s great looking back and knowing that I started a fitness business in one of the toughest economic times and actually have expanded since it’s conception.
One reason why I want – no need – the Evolution Accelerator is because I need more business tools under my hat so that I know exactly what the right fitness systems are and how to maximize each by appropriately dialing them into my business.
Like Sean and Eric say, I’m not naturally a business savvy guy, but I’m a quick learner and am more then willing to step out of my confort zone. I want to help people, create a lot of value for my service, and make a lot of money from what I have a passion for – fitness.
1.Self discipline,drive
2. Ability to get along and help others
3. Want to be part of evolution excellerator to improve my Business
1. To conquer the self, i.e. “self-discipline”, or “self mastery”.
2. This single quality has profoundly influenced me and carried me through more adversity, frustration, and failure in life than I care to recount. It has also invariably accompanied and empowered my successes. It enabled me to graduate cum laude from a major university with a degree in Letters and Philosophy, in the midst of a family tragedy. It has fundamentally become a part of who I am and who I will become.
3. I want Evolution Accelerator to be installed in my young business from the get-go, because I can’t afford to fail. I want to do the work it takes to become successful in reaching and positively influencing others to lead the healthy and enriching lifestyles that they deep-down want to live, and I believe that Evolution Accelerator is my path to getting and staying there!
As Plato put it it is to conquer self. I think this means far more than to just overcome self imposed limitations through some type of self discipline.
I think it’s about taking action to overcome obstacles in your life. I think it’s about looking fear straight in the face and moving forward against it even when everything in you or around you is telling you to play it safe, to do nothing.
The ability to conquer self does require one to deny that fear exists. To the contrary, for without fear there is no need for courage. And if you are going to conquer yourself you will need all the courage you can muster. That is if you are willing to look long and hard at yourself in the mirror of self reflection. It’s not an easy process but it is a process that yields incredible dividends.
I have been down this path a time or two in my life. Perhaps the biggest obstacle I had to overcome was the fear of stepping out and pursuing my dream of owning a personal training studio. With a family of five and a good career as a physical therapist it certainly would have been easier to stay that course, to deny my passion and God given dream. But I choose to take the road less traveled. Has it been easy? No way. There has been a great price to pay (and still to pay). But in the process I am conquering myself, becoming more than I thought I could become and living MY dream. A
The personal quality in question is perseverance. Perseverance trumps talent and intelligence. A person may be highly intelligent and have a boat load of talent, but without perseverance he/she may not be able to sustain the effort required to overcome difficult obstacles. Similarly, self-discipline and integrity are valuable qualities, but without perseverance they are incomplete.
I spent nearly 40 years building a successful career in a field other than fitness. When the economic bottom fell out of that industry I was not ready to retire. I wanted to continue to make a social contribution in spite of the rash of advice that I received that I should head for the golf course and forget it. After some reflection, I decided that I could actually make a valuable contribution in fitness, the area of my first love, so I set out to build a practice around adaptive fitness for older adults, people needing fitness therapy, and persons with disabilities. I dusted off my physical education degree, got the appropriate certifications, and set out to garner the clients. Many of my contemporaries still ask me if this is a hobby, but I just smile and tell them about my committment to making a difference with my clients and making this a successful business.
From what I know of the Evolution Accelerator, it could be the “leg up” to really jump start my practice. The jump start would be great, but I have enough perseverance to make my practice work even if I don’t get the scholarship. I will, however, still be looking to Eric and Sean for advice and direction.
1) To Conquer ones self
2) To Conquer ones self is not allowing anything to stop you from moving forward, improving, an giving your best. My husband and I have tried several business over the years with limited success. However we believe in never giving up and looking at each set back as a new opportunity to learn. We have been attacking our Fitness business in much the same manner, we have had set backs, but we have learned so much. We never give up, but always look for ways to make it better and grow not only our business but our lives.
3) I am really looking forward to Accelerator. It is exactly what we need. The wonderful step by step program can teach us the tools we need to continue moving ahead, giving our all!
Well you made me think about this a little and when I think of someone that is squared away in the military especially in the Army, (which I served in for 8 years as both enlisted and an officer in the reserves and AD, both in the states and overseas in Korea and Kuwait), I think of someone that exemplifies the Army Values. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. All these are needed to be a high achiever. The one that sticks out the most and most applies to what you are talking about Eric is Duty. More specifically Duty, which the Army defines as fulfilling your obligations. In order to fulfill your obligation you must have a level of SELF DISCIPLINE. Self Discipline to take care of the tasks at hand that will get you to your goals. Self Discipline to do the work that is necessary to be successful when others will take the time to take it easy or not take care of clients like they should be taken care of. To not put in the time to get the results that you are capable of getting with your god given ability…….
This has impacted my life in many a way. The one thing that comes to mind is when I got out of the Army I went to work for a corporation as a manager that was fast tracked to move up in the company based on my track record in the military. i worked there for a little over a year and a half and I just knew that it wasn’t for me. I was doing a great job and was on pace to move up in the company, but I wasn’t happy. So I decided to get back into personal training (did it in college and a little while after I got out of college) a time when I had a big mortgage and my first child on the way (wife was 5 months pregnant). So, for my own good and sanity I decided to follow my passion and get back into personal training. I had to have the Self Discipline (duty to myself, my family, my bills
, and my clients) in order to make it as a successful trainer in the gym in a short period of time to cover my bills. I knew that I couldn’t be average, but that I had to invest time in my education, time in the gym and invest the time in my clients and go above and beyond to deliver them a quality service. If I didn’t have that self discipline then I would be at home with my parents and wife and daughter. I knew that I could make it work and I did and now I am featured as the only full time trainer on my company’s website (they have over 30 gyms in the midwest and east coast) that give instructional courses online and that is a direct result of my self discipline.
Now I am in the process of transitioning again as I recently started a bootcamp company and things are going good, but they could be better and I know that Evolution Accelerator is the key to my continued growth and success. I could really use the tools to help me systematize my business as that is the area that I know I need the most help in. I am all in regardless of whether I win or not Eric and I will be another one of your success stories and it would be great to use the tools to not only make more than I was making in corporate America, but to completely blow that away! Thanks!

1. The personal quality described above is Self discipline.
2. Self Discipline is getting up hours before the sun rises making a healthy nutritious breakfast and putting the rubber to the road. In my life that means getting up 4AM working 60-70 hrs a week and still taking the time to do things that make me a better happier person. In the Fitness business we preach self discipline all day every day and as a Fitness Professional we should all be practicing what we preach on a daily basis.
3. I want Evolution to give me a proven path to sucess as long as I supply the self discipline there is no limit and no ceilings.
Self-Motivated. I have read many entries before coming to this conclusion. I also served in the U.S. Army and totally agree with Shelton. You do have to have self-discipline. But you don’t have that when you go in, they teach that to you. You do have to be self-motivated though, you have to push yourself to sign on the dotted line, in anything you do really. I learned that in life. I have always been one to set goals and work hard to acheive them. I have always been self-motivated and I do believe You have to self-talk your way positively everyday to be the very best you can be. To be where you need to be, to be an over achiever, to be accountable, to be dependable, to be all things 100% in order to become successful. I would love to be the one picked to win the most gracious gift bestowed upon us simply because I would soak in every detail and apply it to my new found business! Not only have I learned a thing or two from the introductory pieces given to me by Eric and Sean, but I have valued it and have started to apply it. Things are tough for me right now, but I have a strong faith and a strong desire to make my personal training business succeed! I want to thank Eric and Sean for all the tools they make available to us and help all of us along the way. Having the Evolution Accelerator will Evolutionize Healthy Steps LLC!!!
Thanks for the opportunity!
1 – Conquer Yourself
2 – I think the the way that this has impacted my life in the most profound way is the realization that I’m responsible for my own success and it has nothing to do with anything going on in the world. Not the economy, the government, or anything else.
3 – I want Evolution Accelerator because I know how much it will benefit me and my fitness career. Also I will graduate with a Master of Education in Exercise Science in about a year and I think it would cool to graduate with a M.Ed. and a MBA in Fitness at the same time!
Thanks-
Shawn
1. Conquer self– Self Discipline/Mastery/Control
2. Lacking the discipline to organize time properly caused me to lose precious time with my Father. He was/has always been a rock in my life and my best friend. Empowered me to chase my dreams from the time I was a small boy. Believed in me when no one else did–even myself. Through solid accountability and an intense leadership training course I realized that I lost time with him that I could never get back, and so I began to schedule meaningful time and make it a priority in my life. This still helps me today. Although his health has become increasingly worse, now blind and struggling with cancer, I take even more seriously the lessons learned from a life that lacks organization and structure.
3. I want the Evolution program because I want my life and business to reflect my passion and my true priorities such as using my time properly and efficiently to be with family and those I love But Also having the ability to free up more time so that I can see my business give back to my community and those in need. The systems and structure of evolution will allow that and actually facilitate it. Wanting also to see my dad experience the dream of seeing this business grow to become all he believed it would with me while he is still alive would be a blessing.
Thanks for the opportunity. I appreciate even the chance to share this with everyone.
Tony
1. What personal quality am I describing above? Courage
2. Share one way this quality has impacted your life in a profound way. I worked in the corporate world for 28 years. I balanced both corporate and training for 6 1/2 years. Even in this economy I believed in myself more than anyone else, I took a chance and quit the corporate world and decided to follow my passion…..training. For the past two years I have soley done training. I did not want to look back and say what if so I believed in myself while others told me not to leave corporate. This new journey has changed my life forever. I am following and living my dream. Meeting and changing lives that I work with. I had no idea how many doors can open if you let them. Believe in yourself first and others will follow. I’m really doing this and it is because I had the courage in myself to do so.
3. Give one reason why you want Evolution Accelerator. I believe it will take me to the next level and make me stand out over others around me. I will learn so many things that will help me in my journey to be the best that I can be, therefore, my clients will only get the best in return. I want this more than I wanted anything else. I will work my butt off too!
Eric, thank you for allowing me this wonderful opportunity!!
WOW those are some great answers above!
As a former United States Marine I can testify first hand to the personality trait you are referring to. In the Corp we have 3 core values: Honor, Courage, and Commitment. These core values build and depend upon each other and can not exist outside of their trinitarian relationship. High achievers hold themselves to a higher level of expectation than their counter parts. They also look at any challenge or obstacle as an opportunity to overcome and improve. The Marine Corp motto, “Semper Fi Delis” is Latin for, “Always Faithful.” This faithfulness is applied first and foremost to one’s belief structure in a higher power, independent values, and the importance of family or loved ones. An achiever’s integrity or faithfulness is not only the glue that holds the ship together, but at the same time, is the ship itself.
Now to qualify for this scholarship I feel the need to give the academic answer to the questions and so here goes:
1. To conquer oneself or to overcome one’s fears, shortcomings, etc. In other words, self commitment. Making the overwhelming decision to overcome no matter how much it may cost you as an individual.
2. As a survivor and over comer of child abuse, spinal meningitis, multiple life threatening accidents, severe speech impediments, learning disabilities, A.D.D., substance abuse, owning multiple successful and failing businesses, a father of a 2 year old little girl and one on the way, and finally a loving husband. I can positively say that the character traits listed above have played a huge role in not only my survival, but also to the fulfillment and joy I currently have. I believe what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger and that we must go through tests in our life to have a strong testimony. For all practical purposes, I should have never achieved half of what I accomplished, but due to my abiding faith in my Creator and my self determination to never settle for the status quo, I have been able to do the impossible.
3. I would like a scholarship for the Evolution Accelerator for the following reasons: I want to be the best of the best. I have been in the fitness industry for nearly 18 years and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. For the past few years, I have owned a fitness marketing company that caters specifically to health club owners. I do not only enjoy this business, but I also have a hunger to expand my knowledge and expertise in any way possible. After several years on the road working with club owners, I now have personnel and systems in place that I’m no longer needed in the field, thereby giving me more free time than I feel comfortable with. The biggest bonus to this change and responsibility is that I will be able to spend more time with my wife and my new baby (he is due on my birthday, Sept. 6, and I’m hoping for a boy! If “he” turns out to be a little girl, we will be happy with that as well. Mckayla, my other daughter, will love having a new little sister).
So now that I have all this free time, to keep from going crazy, I have decided to invest some of my capital and know how into developing a secondary revenue stream. My short term goal is to start 2 local one on one studios and 3 local indoor boot camp locations. After I have got these local sites “squared away” then I would like to franchise and/or license the concept and systems to other motivated “hard chargers.”
I have been watching NPE for several years and have been blown away with the detail oriented systems. I have to be honest with both you and Sean, you guys are freakishly creative and a huge blessing to the fitness industry. Whether I have to pay to be part of Evolution Accelerator or by some silly chance am selected for a scholarship, wink wink, I plan to follow your instructions and coaching to the letter. I not only want to learn your system, but I want your system to become the glue that holds my ship together.
Thank you for your consideration and rock on!
P.S. I understand that this is a “lotto application” and no bias will be applied in the decision making process, but I would like you to please consider the following: I will be implementing your system into a brand new business and will be able to not only maximize the results of it (because I won’t have to restructure, break any bad habits, etc.) but will also be able to testify to new fitness business owners that making an investment in one or all of the NPE systems is not only wise, but necessary if they want to dominate in this highly competitive industry.
P.S.S. I have recently enrolled into the I Am Rainmaker Program, and have already began pointing fitness business owners to the system. I would love nothing more than to be a human billboard and advocate for what I feel is the creme de le creme of fitness sales, marketing and management systems for personal trainers.
1.) Self conquering
2.) This self conquering trait has impacted my life by enabling me to be disciplined enough to leave my job at a gym and open my own in-home fitness training business which has now expanded to boot camps as well. It has afforded me the luxury to be able to take my kids to school in the morning and be around for other important things in their life that I might have otherwise missed had I not been the “master of myself” and stayed at my “regular” job.
3.) Eric, I have been a follower of your stuff for a LONG time now (I have the 2001 binder version of The Ultimate Personal Trainer Marketing Program for Fast Profits and Serious Net Worth right her on my book shelf). I have tried and tested hundreds of products by NUMEROUS fitness marketing companies, gurus, etc. My income and life have remained relatively stagnant over the last 10 years. There has even been a bit of a drop off as of the last 4 years actually. Evolution Accelerator, I know, IS THE PIECE TO THE PUZZLE THAT WILL HELP ME FINALLY SEE THE GROWTH MY BUSINESS AND MY LIFE DESERVE. I want Evolution Accelerator to stop having to wake up at 5:00 am and after a full day still go out and train people at 9:00 pm. I WANT SECURITY, FREEDOM, PEACE OF MIND, and most of all I WANT SYSTEMS AND A PLAN (because you can’t have the first three without the last two!)
Thanks Eric
1. Plato was talking about conquering self, which is self discipline or overcoming “you are your own worst enemy”.
2. Back in the day I had several attempts at college, none of which were anywhere close to successful. I was enjoying young adulthood, no worries, no cares nor any desire to achieve. Several years after these college attempts, I was in my mid to late twenties, I was at my parents house and I asked my dad, a career Air Force man, how he thought I could get ahead doing the lousy job I had etc. He pretty much told me that as long as my attitude to life was to have fun, I wouldn’t make any headway. What I need was a strong desire to get ahead, perserverence, discipline, self confidence and self respect. He said depend primarily on yourself, get help when you need it and recognize you can’t do everything yourself, and hope for some luck along the way. I went back to school around 9 months later and it was the best decision of my life.
3. I came back into the fitness business by necessity not choice. I had been retired for several years and had the choice to lose a lot of money owed me or return to the business as an owner. I chose to return. The business has had no accountability, no systems or processes to track anything, and no money to pay bills due to all these deficiences. I have already engaged NPE in a program that was unaffordable for the business but a necessity to start changing course. I would like the opportunity to win the Evolution Accelerator program to take the next step to turning this business around into a very successful business. Financially this win would go a long way to get further down that road and achieving that goal.
I believe the personal quality that you are describing is self-discipline.
I also know that I possess self-discipline. I opened my training studio 9 years ago with a business partner who decided to walk away from the business within the first 6 mos. of being in business. I went into this endeavor with the dream of opening several personal training studio and to be known as the best trainer in the area. ( by best I mean helping every client achieve their fitness goals and live a more fullfilling life). I did not have and still only have minimal business experience but when my business partner walked out we had an $8000 monthly business expenses,(thats not including my pay) which I was left with. Because of my dream I decided to continue on to bring my dream to fruition. In order to keep the doors open and not claim bankruptcy I had to move back in with my parents and sacrafice alot. I had to borrow from Peter to pay Paul, a dozen times lol. Nine years later I am still open, all though I only consider myself to have a job, not a business. I would like to be part of evolution accelerator because I know it will offer me everything I need to run a successful business and help me fullfill my original dream.
There are definitely some very good “sleuths” among you who used the clues provided to figure out the right answer. Smart. Me likey.
This is very cool and I really appreciate all of your comments. Right or wrong, just the act of thinking and communicating your thoughts ALWAYS makes you better, faster, stronger.
Let’s keep it going. This contest is open until 5pm EST on Tuesday, Feb 23. And everyone submitting the correct answer gets entered into the drawing for a full ride scholarship to Evolution Accelerator!
1. Drive and discipline
2. When I started out 20 yrs ago as a trainer, I was told by another trainer I wouldn’t last. 12 yrs later the same person that told me I wouldn’t make it wanted me to train him for a fitness event and that I was one of the best trainers in town.
3. To be successful in south fl, I want that edge that NPE delivers over and over again to there students Who without fail succeed in increasing business and income. I’ve wanted to participate in NPE for over a year, so I hope these answers will put me at the top.
Thanks
Byron
It’s interesting to me how some of you filter this quiz question through your own lens, allowing your personal experiences/feelings to color your answer. This is totally natural and understandable. But it’s also the difference between subjectivity and objectivity.
In college I was a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan and read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classics repeatedly. I think I was most intrigued by Sherlock’s analytical, objective and deductive reasoning because I’m generally much more subjective, allowing my emotions to sometimes affect my decision-making.
Here’s a big hint: if you approach this more objectively and analytically, using the clues…all of them…to help you “decipher” the answer…you’ll certainly come up with the correct choice.
Plus, it’s a good mental discipline to do so!
I should add that the positioning of this post is simply a matter of timing, and is NOT in reference to Byron’s post above, but rather to some of the earlier posts.
1. Self-discipline (to conquer self)
2. I believe the one way that self discipline has impacted my life is by making me who I am. Self discipline is in every area of my life and everything that I do. Without self discipline what do you have? It impacts me from the moment I wake up until the moment I close my eyes at night. I couldn’t imagine a life without some form of self discipline. When you really think about it there isn’t much you can do without it. So it goes to show that the people that are good at self discipline are able to attain everything they want out of life!
3. I want Evolution Accelerator because I know it will grow my business and change my life. I hope I win this to ease some of our financial burden.
1. victory over self.
2. to me, this means the capacity to admit that i don’t know something, that i’ve failed, that i need help, that there are things “out there” much larger and stronger than i may ever be. that by failing, i learn what NOT to do, and can then keep moving forward always toward the goal of finding what’s right. the most important thing i’ve learned this past toilet-tank of a year (and my first year in business with a very small studio) is that it’s impossible to work ON my business when i have to work IN my business. this means that my business model–which i labored over for months–was wrong from the start. it took me many long months to fully figure that out. the realization that my passions were well-intentioned but absolutely not grounded in the real world of business, had a profound impact on me this past year–by admitting my mistake, by getting my self, my ego out of the way, i was able to start looking for the pieces i needed, the mba i lacked, and only then could i see the opportunity that the evolution accelerator represents.
3. it’s the system i need–and have absolutely no time to create–to run my business and help people in all the ways i thought possible but will never be able to fully launch on my own before running out of money and steam. using this system, i’ll have the opportunity to get more people healthy, i’ll bring more jobs and more healthy fundraising activities to my community. i’ll be supporting supporting and networking with other like-minded companies, like the large health co-op we need to become, strengthening our reputations as the people with the training and tools to bring people’s health back. with the accelerator, i’ll bring money home to my family, no doubt, but i’ll be doing it in the most exciting way possible, by helping lots of people live their best possible life, even if i’m not personally training each and every one of them. i see the evolution accelerator as the system i need on the ground to get my business where it belongs, functioning as the complex entity it needs to be. the accelerator will bring consistency and stability to my studio, to my life, to my clients’ lives, and i’ll even be doing my part to bring back my local economy. but most importantly, i’ll become the role model i want my daughters to have. if you really want only one reason why i want the evolution accelerator, that’s it.
thanks for the opportunity!
1. The greatest quality in an achiever is to conquer himself. Conquer his fears, weaknesses, laziness, and challenges, and turn them into bravery, strengths, discipline and successes.
2. This quality has given me almost everything in life. It has lead me to take action while others buried their heads in the sand. It has lead me to see opportunity where others saw a waste of time. It has built my character, which has earned the love and respect of my wife, friends, clients, and colleagues. I have not yet mastered this quality, and perhaps never will fully master it, but will never cease to strive to achieve it.
3. I feel my business has stagnated at it’s current level, and I see this program as the opportunity to get the direction and mentorship I need to grow as a business owner and a leader and take my business to the next level.
1) Self-Mastery
The “Self” is a multi-headed beast, filled with conscious desires, unconscious contradictory programming and layers of complex subconscious motivations.
“Mastery,” as Malcolm Gladwell pointed out in “Outliers” requires at least 10,000 hours of intense focussed work.
Plato and Jim Whitaker were referring to conquering your “self.” To master the self, requires what the Ancient Greeks called “Arete” or virtue, what the Chinese Taoists call “Te” or “integrity”
The ultimate personal quality is having the integrity and virtue to master yourself.
2) This quality impacted my life profoundly when I was literally crippled by a severe herniated disc. I was the sole breadwinner for my wife and two kids and being unable to walk, sit, or think straight without non-stop pain since i wouldn’t take Vicodin or other painkillers, I was pushed to schedule back surgery. But something inside said not to have the surgery.
Instead, I pursued a rehabilitation regimen that required 2 years of hydro-kinetic decompression in the pool and then two years of daily yoga. During that time, I managed to get writing jobs that I would fulfill propped up with foam blocks on the bed and fulfill an obligation to fund and manage a team of at risk soccer kids from gang-infested neighborhoods around the city.
When rehab and classes no longer worked, I took over my own healing with targeted nutrition and adding in multiple disciplines such as martial arts, dance, gymnastics, full range resistance training, kettlebells, tai chi, meditation and essentially created a fusion fitness wellness system that not only brought me back, but made me better than ever.
Sharing what I have learned and experienced has allowed me to see extraordinary transformation in others. Learning to master my self, I am teaching others to do the same.
3) Since my current marketing efforts have flat-lined, I want Evolution Accelerator which offers the steps and accountability to not only create a funnel to fill my schedule, but to create leverage with these techniques to fill the schedules of additional trainers as I expand my business into one that doesn’t depend 100% on only my sweat equity.
1. Determination and vision.
2. This has impacted my life in that when i face challenges, I am able to overcome them.
3. Evolution accelerator is a great asset to any fitness trainer worldwide. It facilitates teaching of administration of fitness as well as technical fitness aspects.
The personal quality that every hi achiever possesses is conquering self.
This quality began to impact my life in the most profound way over two years ago when I realized that my full-time career as an educator in the non-profit sector was no longer the path that I truly wanted for the future; and, when I realized that my heart (and all hopes of financial security) lay in the world of health and fitness.
I got certified as a personal trainer, Spinn instructor, and group fitness instructor with experience at some of the best health clubs in town based on my commitment to honing my skills as a trainer. More importantly, I have also studied lessons related to running a fitness business including many hours pouring over the valuable information that you have generously shared through your (highly effective) marketing materials.
Unfortunately, I also lost my full-time job, my marriage, my house, all of my savings and most of my feelings of self-worth in that same time period.
As Patrick (2:58 pm, February 22, 2010) so eloquently put it, I, too, “believed it was my duty as a husband and a father to sacrifice my dreams in order to provide a roof over my family’s heads.” So, as a result, I have floundered over the past two years serving two masters, so-to-speak, by working different part-time jobs in addition to my efforts as an aspiring, independent Boot Camp/Group Training operator.
And you know the results: more time spent on work with less focus and none of the results–financially, personally or otherwise.
I have been humbled enough to admit that the reason I need Evolution Accelerator is because I do NOT possess a full understanding of the 4 Key Functions of Business: Management, Finance/Administration, Fulfillment/Operations, Marketing/Sales. I need DIRECTION on the skills and information necessary for running a successful business and not just delivering fitness results for clients. I have learned a lot in the trenches of the fitness industry but still do not have the best information on my chosen BUSINESS MODEL (Boot Camp/Group Training). I do not know effective SYSTEMS or the ORDER in which to follow them. I am starting a business while having financial problems (I wish I could make it month to month!) and absolutely must know the essential areas to INVEST in so that I can truly have a business to speak of and to see it grow.
If selected for Evolution Accelerator I WILL study the material. I WILL pass the tests. I WILL put the systems outlined in the program to use. In fact, I have a simple, three-part, 9 month goal that I hope to achieve with the help of EA: Learn how to start up/run a successful Boot Camp, begin the business, generate enough income so that I can afford to pay for a full VIP Membership for my city (or the nearest region that it’s available for).
I am an intelligent guy and have taught myself a lot on how to be a successful fitness operator. But it has been an overwhelming journey that has not generated much success. I am at a point (right now, even as I type) where I feel like I’m ready to throw in the towel and just move on. And I would if it weren’t for A) the bizarre faith that still burns in me that, despite all the lows I’ve endured, I’m not wrong for wanting to build my own fitness business; B) the integrity of NPE and the sound business practices that it has perfected and made available for this industry. I know I can do it. Thanks for this outstanding opportunity!
Best,
Christopher
I am just blown away by all the great, emotional stories you guys are sharing. I really appreciate how thoughtful you are.
Stuff like this is a reminder of the passion that pervades the serious folks in this industry. Passion to be better and truly help others be better. The two go hand in glove.
Thanks again to all of you who have shared your stories.
We’re going to let this run it’s course today, then pick a winner at random tonight.
The personal quality that you are reffering to is the abillity to conquer self.
The abillity to conquer self has impacted my life in many ways. Growing up as a wrestler from the time I was 4 all the way through college I had to demonstrate that quality by making healthy food choices and often working out two times a day to keep my weight in check as well as to sharpen my skills. Not to mention gruelling work outs that I went through day in and day out whether I felt like it or not. I was often a Saturday nighter, working out instead of going out with all of my friends. Even though it seemed crazy or extreme, to me the end prize was worth the temporary discomfort.
Having been part of national championship and state championship teams as an athlete and coach, I have been convinced that one key ingredient in being the best is learning from the best. It is important to not only work hard, but to work “smart” or effectively. In looking around at other fitness coaching options, NPE stands out as doing a great job in elevating their clients to new levels. I have big dreams for DeVetter Fitness and that is why I would like to have NPE in my corner, helping me to grow my business to great heights through the Evolution Accelerator.
Sincerely,
Chas DeVetter
I’m pretty sure the Quality is “self discipline” or as your Plato has stated it – “Conquering Self.”
These last 3 years especially 2009 have been by far the worst and the best year of my life. The worst because I lost a $5000/month fitness contract in a retirement home. I had a real bad problem in my family life that just wiped out 6 months of my life from doing anything worth while. My wife lost her job we are living on unemployment and food stamps that runs out in two weeks.
We had to perform a short sale on our home and are planning to move in to my sister in laws house. One other problem that I face is my wife has given up on me. She say’s I keep falling for scams and this program is another one of those scams. It’s hard to have the confidence when the one you love and support does not support your dreams. So I have to go about my dream without her by my side.
But, through all this happening to me. The BEST thing that can happen to a person happened to me. My faith in GOD increased a hundred fold. I do not make my own decisions without praying and asking for wisdom from God in everything I do in my life.
Through determination, desire, self discipline and most of all… GOD. I have not given up yet and I don’t plan on it anytime soon. I know that to be successful you have to keep pressing on even when you don’t feel like it. and even when you have no support from your loved ones. This verse gives me all the strength I need Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
I feel I have failed not because all these things happened to me. But because I did not have any knowledge in business or systems in place to consistently have people coming into my marketing funnel
I feel Evolution Accelerator is that system that will give me the edge I need to grow my business. I have the discipline to implement step-by-step systems but what I don’t have is the knowledge to design these systems or how to figure out what to do next without these systems in place. I feel this will make me successful.
Thanks
Rich
1. The personal quality is the ability to conquer thy self.
2. This quality has indeed impacted my life in a profound way. Throughout my youth, I was a pretty accomplished competitive athlete. I turned to weight training and plyometrics during my high school days to work on my vertical jump. Despite standing 5′ 7,” I had visions of being able to dunk a basketball. Over the course of a year-and-a-half’s worth of intensive training I was able to dunk tennis balls and mini-basketballs, but never a basketball. Despite falling short of the basketball, I still consider my training a success on one hand. On the other hand, however, I did develop bilateral knee tendinitis. Anyway, I went to undergraduate school but did not play basketball despite being recruited by quite a few schools because I was still having issues with my knees. I began studying Accounting because, at that time, accounting careers were believed to be lucrative endeavors. Just three classes shy of my accounting degree, I decided I just didn’t enjoy it enough to do it for the rest of my life. I changed majors. In order to delay graduation too long, I switched to Business Administration. During my next semester and the extra one that my change necessitated, I used electives on athletic training-related classes. I loved those classes. I ended up enrolling at the United States Sports Academy in the Sports Management Master’s program. Upon arriving, I became overly intrigued with their Sports Fitness Management program. I inquired about that program. While I didn’t possess the exact pre-requisites that were normally required, I did possess similar pre-requisites from my high school advanced placement science classes. Long story short, I was allowed into the program. I was told I had one quarter to prove that I could handle the curriculum. By the end of the first quarter, I had not only earned the right to stay in the program but I was asked to be a laboratory assistant to the department head. My Sports Academy studies were the profound way that conquering thy self impacted me because those studies allowed me to land two highly coveted internships (one at the Medical University of South Carolina and one at Naval Air Station Agana in Guam) and a brand-new (at that time in 1996) Marine Corps civil position that allowed me to create a comprehensive fitness program from scratch. That Marine Corps position allowed me to train with (in my opinion) the top elite athlete facility in the world, Athletes’ Performance, 3 times. It also allowed me to train with Gray Cook on 3 separate occasions, including a 2 1/2 day intensive, in-clinic experience.
3. I want Evolution Accelerator for two very important reasons. For starters, my current position (with a county Fire/Rescue division) does not provide enough income to support my family the way I want to. I should note that I left my Marine Corps’ position to take this position because it would allow me to move home. I have moved home because I want to start my own injury reduction and performance enhancement business geared towards youth athletes. Evolution Accelerator would allow me to begin realizing additional revenues that would allow me to provide annual or bi-annual trips to Thailand (my wife is from Thailand and our children need to regularly see their grandparents who are still there). The second reason is that I want to positively impact the lives of youth athletes in a way that was not available for me and is still not available to area athletes today – at least not the way that I would do it. I feel my training with Athletes’ Performance and Gray Cook gives me a tremendous amount of knowledge, skills, and abilities to share with area athletes.
1. Self control/discipline (conquering yourself)
2. Self control or self discipline is what allows me to look for options instead of excuses, enables me to keep my eye on the prize no matter what kind of roller coaster ride life may FEEL like at any given moment; pushes me to work through my fears instead of running away from them.
When I was 9, I decided I wanted to study abroad in Africa. My parents told me I could participate in the program once I could pay for it myself ($5,000…a beyond huge number to a 9 year old). Keep in mind, I am the oldest of 6, and my parents were struggling financially, so couldn’t have helped me pay even if they WANTED to send their young child to a 3rd world country. They have since admitted they thought their challenge would keep me safe on home soil.
Regardless, I started saving every penny I could. By 10 yrs old, I had $200. By 11 yrs old, I still only had $600. Sometimes it seemed like it was pointless, but I had already told everyone I knew that I was gonna do this trip, and it wasn’t even an option to let anyone think I was a quitter, even if I FELT like quitting sometimes. It was the summer I was 15 when I finally looked at my parents and asked “Would one of you be able to give me a ride to the travel agent’s office?”. The next 4 months were life changing…in Africa!
Get to 17, as an early high school graduate, and repeat the same “no matter what” attitude to personally financing my sports medicine degree… 100% by myself. Even guidance counselors and university administrators thought it would be impossible without someone else to co-sign loans, etc. How was a 17 year old going to afford rent, electricity, food, books AND tuition 1000 miles from known friends or family?!?!
It was self control that got me through 5 years of working 2 full time jobs plus applying for at least 1 scholarship per week, oh yeah, and intense study requirements …even when it FELT like everyone else was probably right… I was too young, too broke, too whatever…
In both examples, there were probably more days I felt like quitting than not, and it was definitely that sense of higher purpose (you know, when you can’t even remember why the heck you keep jumping all these hurdles when it would be so much easier to quit, or cheer from the sidelines?!), but you trust that dreams have to come true for somebody, and maybe, just maybe it could be you.
That sense of indomitable spirit that is deep inside us can only be set free in a disciplined environment, and it is only when I know I have given my absolute BEST to even the most menial tasks that I can hold my head high and look myself in the eye. I figure if I’m going to be my own boss, I better like who I see in the mirror, or else I’m sure to quit.
3. I’m sick of running myself ragged chasing after dreams…I’m ready to implement a focused system to make sure I’m getting at least one step closer everyday instead of one step forward, two steps back.
In college, I was trained to be excellent at what I do, not how to make excellent money at what I do. When I was working for someone else, it was important to have the best fitness qualifications. Now that I’m in business for myself, I need to get the best business qualifications…and quick!
I just recently got the Maximum Fitness Results program, and have been implementing changes to my business one manual page at a time. I’ve proven to myself that I know how to work hard. Its a great quality to have, but I see it’s a better lifestyle when you learn how to work smart…and THAT’S what I want. EA seems like the obvious next tool to use to achieve this.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this program!
The quality Plato refers to is “conquering the self”. While I have seen this interpreted as self discipline, I see something else in this statement. The quality I see is that of one willing to serve. The person that has conquered the self strives for the betterment of those around him or her, not necessarily for themselves. This can be seen in our military and first responders, people that are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the continuation of our way of life. You see it in doctors, therapists and yes even fitness professionals. These are people that have dedicated their lives or at least their professions to helping someone else improve.
This quality has impacted my life in a profound way in that it gives me purpose. It gives me the knowledge that I matter because someone needs me or at least my skills and knowledge. I know that because of my willingness to submit to the needs of others, I have a place in something much bigger than me. I hear the proof of that in the words of the people I come into contact with. (Here is link to an article that was done on my work around christmas time: http://somdthisisliving.somd.com/vol11num4/helping-others-through-fitness.html )
I won’t say that I deserve the Evolution Accelerator program, but I think the people I work with do.
As others have stated it, the answer is discipline, or “conquering self”. I have defined it in my life, and to my clients, as the ability to do what you must, even if you don’t want to. This is by far the most important trait I learned in the Marines. I didn’t want to walk into a gas chamber and choke on that stuff, but I had to. I hated to ride in amphibious vehicles – got sick every time, but I learned to jsut sick it up and do it.
This is how I define self discipline. I have applied this in my civilian career as well with a good amount of success. This is why civilian employers seek former military people – there is a good chance that they have learned the ability to do what they should, even if it is uncomfortable, difficult, or unenjoyable. It is this same trait that allows people to push themselves outside of their comfort zone, which is the very definition of growth – in the gym and out.
I definitely stepped outside of my comfort zone when my wife and I opened our studio. I left a job as a senior federal agent with pay and benefits to match, had a beautiful home, great hours, world travel, and was at the top of my game. What I recognized, though, was that my growth was limited by the system. No matter how hard I worked, or how well I did, I was limited by my pay grade. In the government, excellence is often rewarded with more work. I knew that, if I wanted to reach my true potential, I needed to work for myself so I would decide how far I could go, and not some arbitrary pay grade system.
In 2006, my wife and I opened our studio. I thought I would have to spend a lot of time marketting, but we immediately had a waiting list. We attempted to hire other trainers, but that was a train wreck (just got the Duplicator so we plan to do it right this time).
Now, four years later, I have left my government job, and we still have a waiting list. But I find myself in a situation much like many of the NPE members I read and hear about. I have absolutely no time to spend on my business, with 63+ hours a week of personal training sessions, 3 hours a week of boot camp and an average of four hours a week in nutrition counselling we are talking 70 hours a week just on appointments. Add in finances, program development and marketting and I am obviously dropping the ball on stuff. I am constantly turning away opportunities and money because I have no control over things.
This is why I ould like to have the Evolution Accelerator – to get control over my business and spend more time working on it and not in it.
1. Self-discipline. Plato and Whittaker were absolutely right! Life isn’t as much about the “big picture”, as it is about the snapshots along the way, for it’s the mastery of the FUNDAMENTALS that leads to all great accomplishments and successes. If one is not disciplined enough to apply himself in the little things, it is nearly impossible to climb the “mountains” in life. You can’t get to the peak without careful and calculated steps on the way up. The cool thing is, once you grasp this concept, and make a concrete decision to apply it…the sky’s the limit.
2. James 1:2-3 says, “…count it all joy when you encounter trials or temptations of any sort, knowing that the testing and proving of your faith bring out endurance and STEADFASTNESS and patience.” My life has been filled with opportunities in which to learn and apply this. One of the most significant examples was being diagnosed with a disease that, when aggravated, caused my body to shut down. There were days when getting up, showering, and getting dressed was pretty much all I could accomplish at that time. With very little energy, even the simplest tasks often seemed overwhelming. I then decided that if all I had were short burst of energy, I was going to try to be as productive as possible. So, I began to exercise, knowing that it would, eventually, build my strength and stamina back up. In the beginning, it might have only been one or two sets of one or two exercises, but it was a start. Slowly but surely, I was progressing, and even if all I could manage in a day was a workout, I made sure that was my number one priority. Because of that dedication and commitment to discipline, I got my life back.
3. Several years ago, after investing much time and energy into building a significant clientele, and a solid reputation as a Fitness Professional, I walked away from it to become more involved in ministry. At the time, I had been blessed with an opportunity be a guest Fitness Expert on a talk radio show, and was a coauthor of a book that was written by fit pro’s from around the worId. But, as I said, I felt led to a greater call. I still trained occasionally, but it was no longer my primary focus. A couple of years ago, I moved to a new location. Although I desired to share my passion for health and fitness again, I wasn’t interested in starting over, from scratch, as low man on the totem pole, in a gym or club whose philosophy and training protocol I didn’t agree with. So, I recently decided to start my own business, this time with the boot camp model, and have already secured a location to train. I believe Evolution Accelerator would give me the “jump start” I need to make this happen in a more efficient and timely manner. I succeeded before, and have no doubt that with the same amount of commitment and discipline, I WILL do it again. This time, however, it would be awesome to have the EXPERTS on my side, helping me to apply systems that are powerful and effective!!!
I don’t ever want to hear any of you guys say you don’t like to write, or can’t find time to do it. What I’m seeing here is some of the most sincere, articulate, clear and compelling writing I’ve had the pleasure to read in a long time.
This is really strong stuff!
1. Self-discipline (conquering self), my definition of this is “doing what might take short term sacrafice and dedication for long term gain. Or as Dax Moy likes to say there is no higher perchice you must pay the price in full at the beginning for the results you want in the long term.
2. Growing up I was a National squad gymnast, I gave up 24 hours per week to train, foods that I enjoyed, hanging with friends and all the other things teenagers do, at 17 I blow my knee out really badly and stuck with it through 18 Months of rehab only to find it was’nt strong enough to cope at that level.
Was it worth it? Absolutly!! The things I learned through my gymnastics training are gold, but had you asked me that even a year ago I would have said no!
3, I want (NEED) Evolution Accelerator because I have no clue of how to make a “real” buisness work. I just train people, that’s it! I need more than that, I need a buisness with all the systems that go with it. Regardless of whether or not I win, on your recommendation I am getting a website (yes I don’t even have a website!) and I am Rainmaker which will max me to the limit, then next time you open this program up again I am in.
I see alot of the responses seem to be self discipline and the conquering of self. Since I am not familiar with plato and such I have to go with what I have seen written so many times about leaders and that quality that made them push through any and all challenges. I feel faith/courage in one’s self and vision is what every high achiever possessed before they ever even got started on the actual journey. They knew that what they wanted to accomplish would be so.
Faith in my own vision has allowed me to keep pushing through many attempted what some might call failures but what we all know as learning experiences. I could have easily said to heck with all this daily hustlin to get clients and trying to make this happen. I could have easily given in to what so many of my family members have said, “Rashad maybe its time to just let it go and go get a real job with a steady paycheck.” “At least you won’t have the stress and worry about money.” Only problem is I know that is not true and giving up on my faith would in the long run make money a constant worry and take away the freedom I know I will have with my own fitness business.
I NEED this program because although I have the vision and the faith, I don’t have a clue about systems, marketing, management, and just simply how to run a business. But with this program, surrounding myself with the right mentors and coaches I know that my fitness business will bring huge and lasting change to this world long after I am gone. My business will leave a legacy.
Hi Eric, Hi Sean
The personal quality being address here is that mastering of the self. Controlling our sensual self & appetites instead of allowing them to control us. Mastering mind-sets & strongholds that can either make us or break us.
I’ve been in both positions. I spent over 27 years in Japan and China as a missionary. At one time due to “bends in the river” of life, it became just me and my kids. Not easy but my plans were to stay..till death due us part. But the situation was proving detrimental to my middle and youngest child, so I made the tough personal decision to step away from the circumstances that were taking us in a direction I definitely did not want to go nor my kids to have to suffer because of. I retired from my missionary lifestyle and returned to the States. Preparing to make this move I realized I’d need a way to support my kids and I. I loved working out and learning about nutrition. I’d always battled with my weight and reaching a turning point with that and the wonderful results and affect it had on my life, I knew I wanted to be a personal trainer. Being in China when I came to that decision I went on line and did as much research and all that I could do on line to begin to make that happen and I began to live it. I was teaching English at a well-known hotel and in return, besides compensation, they allowed me to use their in- house fitness facility and the foundation of my dream started to be built. The day came that I did return to the states and I knew what I wanted and needed to do, get the education and certifications I needed to continue on my pathway. In the meantime I worked early hours at a upper-end Expresso Shop and then later in the day worked at a Fitness Facility. (5a.m. early – my young daughter had to get herself to the school bus stop many times and I just had to trust God for it, cause it really wasn’t the way things should be, but you do what you have to do). I had already obtained a minor fitness certification that allowed me to get into the club and I began gaining more experience, more education and quality certification. That was nearly 8 years ago. I’ve worked at several facilities gaining more and more experience, learning the industry and finally started working more on my own.
In fact, in my pursuit of trying to grow my independent training clientele I ran across you Eric, that was before Sean joined you. I even purchased some of your materials.
Then in 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit and wiped me out completely. I was very, very blessed to walk away alive cause it was a “swim for your life” situation. I’ll tell you what–my priorities became very clear after that. God, family, friends and passion in one’s work. It took me about a year to recover emotionally, mentally, and I’m still recovering fiscally. But God has been very good to me.
Now, just past 4 years after relocating to Tennessee, I am the fitness trainer I want to be. It’s how I make my living. I feel its a calling, a mission, especially here in the USA, the land of the “balloon people” as one of my oriental students once so profoundly stated (mainly due to a lack of vocabulary) to describe his impression of the States.
For being here just over the 4 year mark, and actually only 2 of those really actively building my clientele base and presence in the fitness industry, I am at a turning point.
I am program director (part time) for an all female facility, I manage their fat loss programs. I also independently platform out of the club and garner most, though not all, of my clients from their membership base.
I’ve been surviving and even came to a point of making more money than I ever have (considering my 27 years of mission work was room and board and everything I owned pretty much fit in a suitcase, that might not be saying much). Its long hours and I’m definitely not leveraging myself and I don’t have that many more hours to spare to train to make more money. I need help. I know I have a deep well of expertise and experience to offer folks, I really need help in knowing how to do that. I feel like I am positioned to explode but it’ll be more like implode if I don’t get the know how to do this.
I lost all your materials I had on my computer in the hurricane and my head and heart are positioned now to make the go again. I need business-building know-how now!
Because of my life overseas, I have a son and 2 grandchildren (1 & 2 years old) over there right now. He’s having a family crisis and it’s killing me that I don’t have the time or money to be of much help to him or be there for those babies.
If I’m making more money, because I’m helping more people (and that’s what I do), and learn how to make business and leverage myself then I think, no, I KNOW I’d be freer to do what my heart desires AND what needs to be done in the personal areas of my life as well. That’s it, that’s why I want Evolution Accelerator.
This is a turning point for me.
You want to have a strong core desire to change your current situation and you want to believe in yourself.
If you doubt yourself just for one moment all your efforts can vanish in a minute. If you believe in yourself no matter what other people say and you develop the leadership skills you will achieve anything you want. I truly believe in the above statement because I am an example of it.
I have proven many people wrong who told me to that this or that is impossible to achieve because of (you name it).
How this core desire to change my situation and strong believe in myself has helped me to get where I am today.
I came to U.S 10 years ago with 1000 bucks in my pocket, no English, and nobody I knew I could get help from. One thing I knew I was going to be successful no matter what.
I took all the English classes I could at the local community college and started working in local fitness chain. When my managers found out that I am here under certain circumstances they tried to take advantage of it and threatened me all the time that I would get fired if I am not #1 producer in the club. (under my visa regulation this company was the only one i was allowed to work for at the time) I think this actually helped me to get even stronger because it turned out I wasn’t #1 in the club – I was #1 in the whole company (8 clubs)
One thing I knew for sure that one day I will leave this mess and open my own dream business.
Today I am just few steps away to make my dream come true. I own my business and I deliver awesome results to my clients. I stumbled upon this program and I know that I need directions to get better results from my marketing efforts. NOTHING is going to stop me to be #1 trainer and fitness business in Columbus OHIO because I have a really strong desire to make it happen. I don’t have to prove anybody wrong anymore. I want to prove myself that after 10 years of struggle and living on the edge of one big question mark about my future now I know what I want and how I want it.
I think that accelerator program would help me to achieve that. I will do whatever it takes to be your #1 testimony for future prospects. I am ready.
I believe this answer your questions Eric.
Have a nice day
Alright gang…that’s it. We’re shutting this contest down.
THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING! GREAT JOB!
I’ll announce the correct answer (the answer I was looking for) and the winner of the random draw tomorrow morning via email and blog post.
Have a great night.
What Plato says is conquer self, but I would explain that with next one: VISION; STRATEGY; BELIEF; PERSISTENCE and LEARNING.
I’m coming from small town in Macedonia. Since I was little I was always interested in fitness. On 22 years old, after few years in business college, I decide to start over and I left my country, went abroad and graduate in Sport University with major Body Building and Fitness. I had a knowledge and experience working in Europe and decided to pursuit my dream in USA.So I came here, I got certified again few times, and decide to stars a new life. On the beginning when I got here I didn’t even work something connected with fitness. Wasn’t easy for me. I’m foreigner with different accent, I was changing deferent jobs, and until two years ago when I start doing little something, but not even close to that what I should be, I didn’t even belief that I can do something here. When I first find your website I thought this is another BS where somebody trying to make some easy money. But after you send me the CDs and other materials, and after all those emails from you and everything what you doing, make me realize that that’s what you can do best, and that is what you love, and not only you’re doing what love but you’re trying to reach in the other people mind’s and make them belief they can do more, work harder and think smarter. Even if half of them don’t succeed, at least they try to.
For the the end, I know that this contest is done, but I wanted to tell you this, and tell you that you’re doing great job and keep going like that, and I’m participating on this course anyway, I’m on that early 50 list (hopefully),because I know what I want ( Vision), with your help (Strategy), my knowledge and dedication (belief and persistence), I’m ready to LEARN:))
1. What personal quality am I describing above?
Self-Discipline
2. Share one way this quality has impacted your life in a profound way.
Self-discipline is doing something unnatural over and over again until it becomes natural. By nature, we (humans) are mediocre, lazy, status quo, fearful, and so on. Because greatness and excellence in all categories of our lives doesn’t happen naturally and definitely not by default, one has to fight, battle, and go to war in order to conquer oneself (the dark evil one).
One of the greatest battles for me is the ability to ask without fear. As a kid I was never the one to raise my hand in class – to answer or ask a question – even if I knew the right answer. I was too timid and scared of what people would think of me. I didn’t want to appear foolish – I was afraid to fail. This fear crippled me from grade-school to college all the way to my career life. I never got what I wanted in life because I never asked for it. It certainly doesn’t automatically land on your lap. One day I realized that If you want something, ask for it (so obvious). The business deal, the sale, referrals, the pretty girls phone number, relieve and rescue. At first asking for these things was hard, but the worst thing that can happen is no. I have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Talk about risk versus reward. I started asking for bigger and better things and got some yes’ and a lot more no’s. After repeating this process over and over, in spite of my natural resistance, it helped me get better at the art and science of asking. Now, its second nature.
3. Give one reason why you want Evolution Accelerator.
You get what you ask for! Here I am asking. I’ve owned my personal training studio for about four years and all I’ve done is pour more and more of me (time, money, energy) into my business. Now it’s time for my business to pour into me.
1. Determination zest and vision
2. Facing challenges with vigor without any fear at all and being there at the right time.
3. What else can you compare with? None at all.
Discipline is definitely the one quality that we need to have in the military. You dont have to have passion. you dont have to have desire but you have to be disciplined. Now, the same goes for belief and persistence depending how long you want to last in there but discipline is the one quality that everyone is having in the military.
I used to smoke, drink and party often and there was a turning point in my life when I got fired from my job unexpectedly and then I really needed to change my lifestyle which is when I was studying for me first personal training certificate about 5 years ago.
I told myself that i have to really get certified and stop going out spending money I did not have so much of. Ever since then I made a decision to not have a single cigarette, I have not had a single ounce of any type of alcohol, no wine, no beer, nothing, I have stopped drinking pop (soda), and dont spend my time at the bars or clubs.
The funny thing was, at first I really needed to be disciplined about it but I think after several months into it what made me conquer this is that I really made a decision to change my life. Once I made that decision everything was so easy, I was looking at life through different lenses, in a whole new way.
Why I want EA? Eric, Honestly I am freaking frustrated. I got so much drive, so much passion, I dont do anything else during the day but working on things related to my fitness business, my whole day is spent on that…..and apparently I am not doing the right thing. I am doing so many things related to it that there is no sufficient time for the most important thing. Implementation coupled with consistency is what will solve it.
I believe in you guys, I love your systems and work ethics, i believe in myself, I am very passionate, I give alllllllll of my time on it, I am fully dedicated to my fitness business improvement but I must make some type of a shift to make it happen. I have had sooo much ups and downs with this fitness career that now I see it that the main thing to succeed is not even one product but we need start IMPLEMENTING/APPLYING what we are being taught and never give up, STAY ON IT/CONSISTENT until it is done.
Give me that one last chance
The short answer to the question is conquering thy self, but I would also add in that it is impossible to conquer oneself without first having passion and hunger for what one does.
This quality has allowed me to manage my way through the oceans of doubts and second guesses I’ve had about opening my business to begin with. With so many people telling me how easy it is to fail at keeping a business afloat. Sometimes those negative reinforcements cause me to wonder if the whole thing is worth it.
However, the fact I have not only hunger and passion; but also the desire to conquer myself drives me to keep going! Through bettering myself through Eric and Sean’s marketing, I am learning how to attract QUALITY clients, slowly but surely, which is a positive reinforcement that keeps me driving hard. Results beget results!
I would love to win a scholarship for the Evolution Accelerator because I am tired of living in wonder and fear about how I can provide for my children. I know how important it is for children to see that it is possible to achieve their hopes, goals and dreams. Unfortunately I started my business in a very foolish way in the beginning (I was young and arrogant and used credit cards) so I am currently behind the 8-ball. But I feel with the tools this program provides, I would not only provide an excellent life for my two kids; but also fulfill my dream of reaching and helping so many more people that I currently have no idea how to reach.
1) perseverance… builds character… character builds hope.
In 2002 I had finished my Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine. Following the exit exam, I sat for the California State Board exam. Much to my surprise I did not pass. Every year there after I pursued this dream and goal to get my license. Last August sat for the exam again and went through an emotional break up with my fiance a week before that exam and come to finding out that I didn’t pass for the ninth time. In November of last year suffered a major Motocross accident rendering me incapacitated up to the point of taking the exam. I have now just taken the exam for the 10th time February 16th of this year. It will be 4 weeks before I find out the results, but I feel confident I will be moving forward with grace and faith putting this test behind me so I can continue with my dream of opening my own Orthopedic Acupuncture and fitness center.
The accelerator can be the key I need to boost my vision and keep a step by step guide to reaching my goals, keeping me congruent with them, my values and behaviors so i can have long term happiness, freedom and success.
Thanks everyone at NPE for all the help and guidance through these times. You have been a great asset.
