Greetings From Australia Mega Training

One of my Saturday presentations at the FFP Mega Training Event. I presented 3 times over the weekend to all the troops on this side of the pond!
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia!
I flew out here Tuesday night last week, got here on Thursday (crazy when you pass the international date line and fast-forward a day in time).
This trip has been fantastic. Dick and I were prepared for the worst in our 20+ hours of flight, but Qantas lived up to their reputation in being one of the best airlines in the world. Not only has Qantas never killed any passengers in their entire history (no crashes, attacks, etc.) but the service was exceptional.
We were fortunate to have upgraded tickets for this trip, which meant our seats unfolded to a full bed. And I can tell you that getting to sleep for even 6-7 hours makes all the difference on a long trip like this. Combine that with great service bringing you any food and drinks you’d like at any time, and a wide selection of movies in the onboard personal entertainment center and what I loaded to my iPhone for the trip… this was quite possibly the easiest travel I’ve ever experienced.
Of course, when we arrived here 14 hours off EST with the days and nights truly flip-flopped it took a little adjustment. But fortunately it took me just single day to reset my clock and it’s been smooth sailing ever since.
In case you don’t know the full story, I’m here to speak to group of Australian members using our products and programs to grow their business.
All NPE products and programs are run over here in Australia by a couple guys – Andre Sauer and Ric Issac – and their company is called Fit For Profit (FFP).
The group here at their first MEGA TRAINING conference has been fantastic. They were about 120 folks in attendance, and all were very intelligent and well-educated business owners.
I spoke twice on Saturday, and once on Sunday.
But without a doubt, the highlight of the trip for Dick and I was getting to see the Australian Member of the Year contest on Saturday night.

Here are Andre, Ric, and I with the FFP Finalists for Member of the Year 2009. From left to right- Andre, Ric, Joel Scutt, Bianca Aiono, Dirk Hansen, Laurie & Nicole Maxmilian, Jason & Clinton Thomas, and me. All these folks had AMAZING presentations, and it was very inspiring to see so many of them growing so fast with all our programs.
We saw 5 OUTSTANDING presentations made… and I’ll tell you these guys would all give their American counterparts a run for the money! (Maybe next year we’ll host a stand off for who takes the ‘world title’ for Member of the Year).
I expect to have video clips of all the presentations later this week, and look forward to posting them all to the blog for you to see. Very impressive stuff!
The members then all voted for the best presentation and on Sunday Dirk was awarded the title of “FFP Member of the Year” for 2009.

Ric and Dirk Hansen. Dirk won the title (voted by the crowd) for the FFP Member of the Year 2009. Well done!
After the conference finished up, we got down to real business… going to see my first Australian ‘no-rules’ football game (or “footy” as they call it over here).
We watched a great game with 2 Melbourne teams facing off in the last game of the season before championships begin. The game took place in one of the two Melbourne stadiums. This one holds 50,000 and on the screen they said total in attendance tonight were 48,852. So you can imagine the energy in the arena!
These guys get pumped for their football!

Here's Dick, Ric, Andre, and myself at an Aussie 'no-rules' football game. We saw 2 Melbourne teams face off in the last game of the regular season before the championships begin. The house was packed with 48,852 Aussies cheering for their team!
Now as I write this it’s Monday morning here for me (Sunday early evening for everyone in the states). Dick and I are going to be consulting with Andre & Ric on their plans for the next year ahead here. Then I’m going to be taking time for some additional meetings with other Australian strategic alliance partners, and have a FREE day planned for Wednesday. Will be flying back to the states on Thursday.
I expect the rest of the trip to be just as fantastic as the first half.
And look forward to sharing some of the video we captured with you all as we get it posted later in the week.
To your success,
Sean
P.S. One thing I spent a lot of time talking about with folks here is the power of using public speaking as a major ‘rock’ your lead generation marketing plan. I even had several folks ask me if we had any more “done-for-you” public speaking presentations, which I guess must have been a good sign we’re listening to the market because I actually just finished new development on public speaking tools before flying out last week. Stay tuned for an announcement tomorrow on how you can get your hands on them. You’re gonna want to grab this package while the gettin’ is good this week.
Here’s another health club marketing post you may enjoy.

Hi Sean
Thanks for your nutrition presentation on Sunday. The message you delivered is set to have a massive impact on the way I run my studio and our trainers deliver results driven service to clients. Your message looks like it will help hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Nice work
My trainers and I have spent 6 years tip toeing around nutrition and hiding behind the indoctrinated belief that trainers aren’t qualified to give nutrition advice (we have outsourced our nutrition section). In the mean time our community is getting fatter and suffering from poor health. It’s time for us to take RESPONSIBILITY for what we can do to help our clients with and actually show up in an informed and deliberate way.
I have realized how hypocritical we have been asking our clients to take responsibility for their health and behavior (both good and bad), yet as trainers we haven’t taken responsibility for properly supporting and coaching them. That’s going to change in a big – so thanks and keep up the great work
Sounds like an awesome event, especially for a first time. Really looking forward to the Member of the Year videos.

Thanks for your comments Lenna and it was great to meet you at the event. Looks like you ‘got’ the message in my presentation and that’s great to hear. I’m sorry you couldn’t be with us for Saturday! Get in touch with Andre and Ric about the videos from the presentations as I’m sure they’ll be making those available. Look forward to hearing more about your progress over the coming months ahead!
Hi Sean,
Thanks for making the trip out here. It was great to finally meet you. And thanks for taking the time to talk with me on Friday and Saturday night after the presentations, your ideas and advice were inspirational. I hope to catch up with you again sometime soon (hopefully in the US!). I am really excitied about implementing Rainmaker and Dietpro into our business, I know it’s going to be huge! Thanks again Sean.
My pleasure Laurie- and I know you’ve got a VERY long and bright future ahead of you. Looking forward to continue working with you in the years ahead. Best, Sean
