FREE – 213 Pages of Winning Fitness Marketing Promotions, Tools and Fitness Business Growth Case Studies from NPE Member Awards Contestants

MEGA TRAINING was a huge success, and a blast for everyone in attendance. We’ll be posting pictures, stories and videos over the coming days. You’ll get a kick out of them.

Jeremy Gritton, Member of the Year Finalist

I’ve got one video for you today, from NPE Member of the Year Finalist, Jeremy Gritton, below. It will FIRE YOU UP. Be sure and watch it.

Thanks to all of you who took the time off from work to join us, get inspired and instructed on how to make 2011 your best year yet.

This year’s MEGA TRAINING was our best so far. Our community continues to grow and bond in ways that have exceeded our expectations. It’s becoming like a big extended family. There’s so much GIVE TO GET going on – a phenomenon you just don’t experience anywhere else in the fitness industry to this degree (if at all).

It makes Sean, Camelia, Dick and me really proud to see our vision being realized. And that is possible for the reasons I discussed during my “Be Unique, Different…Better” presentation.

We put our core values out into the marketplace like bait on a hook, and that attracts to us like-minded people.

People who are eager to grow their fitness business, produce explosive profits and achieve real personal and professional freedom…but NEVER at the expense of their ethics, integrity and core values.

Fitness business owners who want to make as much money as possible, as fast as possible…but understand there is no such thing as “get rich quick.”

People who don’t shy away from hard work because they’re focused on high achievement and understand the two go hand-in-glove.

People like you.

We sincerely appreciate you and value you. We know each of our thousands of Members is a real person, with a real story who fundamentally just wants to be better. To be, have and do more. To continue helping people and making a difference.

And we’re here to help you do that, and show you how to translate that ‘higher calling’ into a profitable fitness business that gives you everything you want.

One way we can tangibly demonstrate that to you is with the amazing free gift we have for you today.

It’s the 213 page manual containing our 2010 NPE Member of the Year and Member Awards Case Studies.

It’s got their stories, tips and secrets, marketing tools and promotions and absolutely PRICELESS guidance from some of our TOP Members on how they did it – how they grew their fitness businesses with speed.

It’s one thing to hear it from us, it’s a whole other thing to hear it from them. You’ll get ‘inside’ their heads, discover HOW they overcame obstacles and triumphed. It’s not just motivational, it’s literally step-by-step guidance.

It’s packed with killer stuff, like Tom Jackobs bootcamp marketing promotion that produced 2,741 leads, 87 campers and almost 15 grand in sales…from ONE email. Yes, one email.

We could easily sell this manual for $500 or more, but that’s not how we roll.

Instead, we’re giving it away to you for free.

All we ask is that you make a small donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Sean and I will match your donation and then send a big check to WWP in December. Last year we did the same thing and raised $5,000 from you guys, which we matched, sending $10,000 to WWP in December.

We want to do even better this year.

Here’s how it works:

For a $50 donation to Wounded Warrior Project, you’ll get INSTANT ACCESS to the PDF manual containing all the fitness marketing tools and promotions and fitness business growth case studies from our Member of the Year Finalists and all the other Member Awards categories. PLUSwe’ll mail you the manual in hard copy so you have it at your fingertips to refer to.

And that’s important. Because if you’re like most people, you’ve got dozens, maybe hundreds of PDFs on your hard drive that you might scan once…then lose among all your other computer files, never to be seen again.

And this manual is TOO valuable to be lost on your hard drive. The real value in this will come from repeated viewings, showing it to your spouse or partner, discussing it, applying what you learn. And you’ll get that when you get the hard copy for just a $50 donation.

And let’s be honest, there is a UNIVERSAL LAW surrounding giving. Your small $50 donation isn’t really small at all. That’s one training session to you, but it could mean a better prosthesis for a man or woman of our Armed Services who lost a limb in combat. And that kind of giving always come back to you. It’s the karmic boomerang. And it’s real. I experience it every day, and so do you, if you’re paying attention.

However, if $25 is all you can give now, then you can get instant access to the digital download of the manual (no hard copy shipped to you).

Whichever donation size you decide is right for you, we want to thank you in advance for giving to get.

Make your selection below – just click the appropriate link. And then watch Jeremy Gritton’s awesome video.

  1. Erik Peacock says:

You guys rock. I’m still cranked up from mega training. I’m proud to be a part of the NPE family. Thanks for being such good mentors and examples for the rest of us.

  2. Congratulations again Jeremy. I look forward to seeing you next year!

  3. JR Smith says:

Hummm…the 213 page manual Winning Fitness Promotions seems to have a cost associated with it…soooo, it’s not really free is it? I believe in the Wounded Warriors program and I have participated but it seems you have opted to do some misdirection with this manual being free when in reality it isn’t. Just be truthful.

  4. Eric Ruth says:

JR, it’s too bad you feel this way. The manual is free. We don’t make a penny off of it. We’re giving it away. It’s worth hundreds and we’re giving it to you. All we ask is that you make a small donation to WWP. That’s not a ‘cost’ – that’s a donation. There is a distinct difference. And I think if you were to ask others, they’d agree. That’s why I’ve approved your comment for all to see. Maybe we’ll get some feedback from them.

In fact, to take this one step further, those who make a $50 donation also get the hard copy mailed to them…at our expense. We are paying to have it printed and shipped, probably around $15 each. That comes out of our pockets (multiply $15 by the dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds who get it, and it’s not a small number – we foot that bill). There’s no lack of truthfulness or transparency here.

    Eric

  5. Malcolm McKenzie says:

I still feel like I need to pinch myself cause I feel like this is a freaking dream. All the info I received from you guys instantly changed my views of my business for the good. I changed my business cards just like you guys had said, in 4 days I picked up 5 new freaking clients, that’s just changing that one thing. NOW THIS! a $50 donation for priceless information, I don’t know how y’all do it! Y’all guys are freaking AMAZING! My family and I thank you guys so much.

    Malcolm
    San Antonio, TX

  6. Bill Davis says:

I’m in agreement with JR Smith on this. If a person has to hand over money to get something, then it’s not free.

Additionally, donations are generally made without any consideration for reciprocity, meaning, “I give, you get.”

In normal business, both sides materially benefit. I trade my money for your knowledge.

In this case, it seems like you’re simply transferring your right to my money in exchange for your knowledge to the charitable entity.

I don’t have a problem with that (and I don’t think JR does either), but you are leaving out part of the truth.

It’s the exclusion of this simple detail that is worrisome and makes you a little less trustworthy. Of course, this is in my eyes only and I cannot speak for anybody else.

By the way, whenever you go to a museum and they say admission is free but there is a required donation of, say, $5, you don’t have to pay it in order to get in. FYI.

Now, to wrap it all up, your info is generally top-notch and it’s probably worth the $50. But that’s not what got us to open the email, is it?

If somebody wanted to push this, it could be considered SPAM because it runs counter to the CAN-SPAM act, which prohibits misleading subject lines. “FREE” in your subject line is misleading.

Why? Because at least 2 of us thought it was. In the days of “free meaning free,” it is not unreasonable to interpret “free” as meaning genuinely free.

I challenge you to send the same email to a cold list and see how they respond.

  7. Eric Ruth says:

Thanks Malcolm. Glad to hear you’re executing on what you learn – putting it into action so you can get results. That’s where the rubber meets the road, and where a lot of folks get bogged down. They just don’t execute. The fitness business owners you’ll hear from in this manual are all big time action takers.

Keep it going and by this time next year you may be up on stage competing for Member Awards, too. We’d like to see that happen.

  8. Ben Fox says:

Eric, Can’t wait to get my hands on this manual after meeting you at Australian Mega Training. You guys never fail to amaze. To anyone sitting on the fence, last years notes after 2009 mega training were unreal and not even close to 200 pages from memory, but still awesome. Gaurantee your getting an amazing deal, plus you get to feel good about yourself by making a donation to a worthy cause.

  9. Eric Ruth says:

Man o man. You can’t even give stuff away without people complaining. Incredible.

I’m approving Bill’s comment because this leaves such a rotten taste in my mouth.

Sean and I have donated thousands and thousands of dollars to charity, particularly WWP, over the years.

We’ve helped raise many thousands more through promotions like these.

And through Pushups for Charity, we’ve been instrumental in helping fitness business owners raise another $200,000 for WWP here in the States, with more to come, plus whatever our Australian partners raise over there for Make A Wish.

We leverage our relationship with you guys to do good, and a lot of it.

So it really pisses me off to hear this kind of stuff.

Did I use a compelling subject line to get you to open the email and hit the link? Absolutely.

Is it disingenuous or even misleading? Maybe to a lawyer like Bill it is. But in my mind, definitely not.

The manual IS free. Period. We are not charging a dime for it. We’re asking you to freakin give to a charity. What’s not to understand about that?

In return for your charitable gift – which is tax deductible – you get stuff easily worth $500 to the astute action taker.

We don’t keep a dime. And as I mentioned earlier, we even take a financial LOSS on this by providing the printed manuals at our expense.

Then…we MATCH everything you donate dollar for dollar.

I’m not a lawyer like Bill. I can’t parse the words that definitively and make an argument where there shouldn’t be one. All I know is that I sleep fine at night saying the manual is free.

If you don’t like that, go somewhere else. Really. That’s how I feel.

    Geez.

  10. Ben Fox says:

Not to cause an argument on the blog as its well off topic, but well said Eric ;)

  11. Bill Davis says:

I appreciate your approving of the comment. I am not a lawyer, though you make it sound dirty to be one.

I never said you weren’t generous. I did say your weren’t truthful. In case you didn’t know, “truthful” means “full of truth.” Your email was lacking in that department.

Seriously, if you’d have just said, “Make a donation, get this book” there wouldn’t be any discussion at all. Same result (people get a “free” book and money is given to an awesome charity), but with a totally honest message.

I’m sorry you don’t like hearing that and that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I’ll unsubscribe because I really don’t appreciate the tone of your reply. But it’s your site and your products and services. I respect that.

  12. I think you’re out of line here bill.

You obviously have not met Sean and Eric, as you wouldn’t make such a brash and ill thought out statement.

They are two of the most inspiring and honest people I’ve met.

I’m sure if you had done as much work for charity as NPE does, you would understand their generosity.

Plus any of their clients will tell you they way over deliver and this material will be worth way more than a $50 donation!

  13. Eric Ruth says:

You’re too smart for me Bill. I give.

  14. Wow, I’m not even sure what to say. Eric, you know who you are and what you stand for and ANYONE that’s known you for any length of time would know they can trust you. Your headline isn’t misleading, it’s marketing! And good marketing at that. I am more than happy to make a simple $50 donation and hope you don’t take any negative feedback to heart. Talk to you guys soon!

  15. Eric Ruth says:

Here’s how I’m going to resolve this.

If you felt I misrepresented this offer by not indicating in my email that a donation was required, and you want the manual, then:

    1. Make your donation, get the manual
    2. Send your receipt to support @ netprofitexplosion.com with “For Eric” in the subject line
    3. I will personally reimburse your donation. You can expect a check in the mail from me.

    Eric

  16. Rod Stuckey says:

Sean and Eric – Thanks for posting Jeremy’s video for all to see as it’s extremely inspirational for aspiring entrepreneurs and fit biz owners.

And more importantly thanks for putting forth the heavy lift and effort required to raise money for those who put their lives on the line every day for our freedom. It’s a rare and honorable quality.

Only an in-experienced biz owner with minimal understanding of what it truly takes to be successful (in business and life) could have the audacity to shed a negative light on what you guys are doing.

Thanks again for a great show at Mega Training 2010!

  17. WOW! I just had to call it out! I have to admit this topic really got carried away Eric and Sean do this Wounded Warriors campaign every year. These guys are some of the biggest givers ever. They are full of value so I had to back them on this. Have we come to this? Good luck Guys! Natalie

  18. Sean,Eric,Dick and Camilia
You guys rock and obviously Bill has never met you guys. I really have no respect for anyone that would speak ill of you guys, ALL OF YOU!!!
Also a great big thank you and a tip of the cowboy hat for such a great and information filled event, we are still buzzing.
    Thanks Jeff and Vern

  19. Aaron Palmer says:

I was at the Mega Training event this past weekend, what a great time filled with awesome content ready to plug into my business. I purchased the Evolution Accelerator, eventhough I don’t have the extra $$$, I am diving in and am geared up for a very prosperous 2011. I would suggest donating to get the case studies and it’s a proven system that has worked for numerous others…

  20. Keith Laug says:

    Eric,
I was disappointed to hear your trustworthiness has come under question. You and the NPE team, in my opinion, have been complete professionals in every way since becoming a member in 2008. I am a business owner because of your systems and guidance. As a member of Pushups for Charity I appreciate your continued donations to the WWP and the expenses you have taken on to produce and ship the manuals. Keep up the good work. No one is better than you guys!
    Keith

  21. Clint Barr says:

I am so proud to be a part of an organization… check that… FAMILY like NPE. Eric, you are the definition of a go-giver. At no point did I feel mislead.

You made the perfect point. The donation is tax-deductible, so it is ABSOLUTELY FREE!!

As a Pushups For Charity founding partner I’m glad that I am associated with you, Sean, Dick and Camelia. Your reputation only makes my own that much stronger because of my relationship with you.

Keep it up, Eric! I’m behind you 100%

    Clint

  22. Erik Peacock says:

    Eric,
Don’t let it get to you. You guys have done so much for so many people. There has always got to be a few people who have to be a pain in the ass an show everyone how smart they are. You can’t please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Those of us who know you an Sean know your values and you guys implement them with how you run NPE. Maybe these guys should take a look at their own core values instead of worrying about some trivial BS. Keep doing what you are doing the vast majority of us appreciate and value immensly what you do.

  23. tim chudy says:

Sorry I missed mega-training. I would’ve like to catch up and know my biz would have benefited. But thanks for the manual.
By the way Eric, I have a rule I do my best to adhere to and would recommend you follow it too. ‘Don’t argue with idiots!’ It’s like throwing punches underwater. Everything and anything you say is futile.
Keep up the great work. Talk soon.

  24. ann-marie says:

i think the controversy illustrates a principle you’ve written about–that your business is based largely on relationship.

i had no problem with the required donation because i saw you do it last year! thinking back, i did wobble a bit last year when i saw it–i did feel a bit manipulated–bill’s point. but i quickly got over it because my perceived value of the manual won, and after all, i was donating to a great cause and getting the manual for free. but my participation was based largely on the virtual relationship i already had with you and your company. i have since purchased EA and am slowly working my way through, so my relationship is based on even more understanding than last year–and this time, i didn’t even blink before donating.

point being, if we send something like that to our fitness clients, the success/failure will depend on so many factors, including the depth and breadth of the relationship we have with them.

we are your clients–some relationships are newer than others.

so i do think bill’s suggestion is a good one–say it in the subject line very simply–problem averted–better writing, actually.

but to call into question your honesty? not appropriate. just plain wrong. sorry to hear it.

  25. Chrissy V says:

    Hey Guys -
I think your information is great – Great Cause…once again – great idea! and remember….you cannot please them all – we just need to treat them with kindness :) How many cliche sayings can we all think of—so carry on—God Bless America!
Thanks – looking forward to the hard copy too!!

  26. Mark Hill says:

Oh, where to begin? NPE is a Top Notch class act from top to bottom and inside and out. I’ve met Sean, Camelia, Dick, and finally introduced myself to Eric at MegaTraining. I already knew they were high caliber people and Eric was no exception. He took the time to speak with me and even remembered my exact story I shared during the VIP Luncheon among over 50 or more attendees! His presentations were stellar and packed full of rich content overflowing with ideas/strategies/etc. and I can’t wait to implement them! This company gives and gives and gives. They overdeliver constantly and consistently. Nuff said…..

  27. Brad Scott says:

After reading this chain, I initially was not going to post a message…but as you can see, that has changed.

First, I want to say Thanks to Eric and the NPE team for their continued support of the Wounded Warrior program. As a veteran and a supporter of our service members, I have personally seen the difference this project has made in the lifes of the men and women who have proudly served our country.

As for the word “free” and those who have a problem with it, give me a freakin’ break. Does it bother you when you are at the grocery store and they advertise a buy one get one free product. Do you head to the checkout counter and tell them you just want the free one, not the one you have to pay for. When you donate to a charity that has a table set up in the local mall and they give you a small flower or a ribbon to pin on your shirt, do you feel like you had to pay for that ribbon. When you give blood at the Red Cross they give you free juice and cookies, or did they charge you a pint of blood for 2 cookies. If the word free bothers you in this context, well, you might have bigger fish to fry.

But back to the point of the post, thank you NPE for all you do and keep up the great work.

Eric, Sean, Dick and Camelia (and staff), You guys rock!

    Brad Scott
