Do You Have The Qualities of a Leader? Take The Quiz To Find Out
Camelia and Dick did an awesome presentation on leadership at Mega Training. And they are two people who know quite a bit about the subject.
Dick was a pilot and leader in the military, he led a multi-million dollar sales team for a Fortune 500 corporation for many years, and he leads his buddies around the golf course 2-3 times a week.
Camelia was a team leading project manager back in her corporate days, led her million dollar personal training studio staff and clients, and most important of all, is leading her two beautiful daughters to incredible success in sports, academics and life.
And of course both Camelia and Dick have prominent leadership roles in NPE as Coaches and Consultants.
So they’re eminently qualified to teach this stuff.
Here’s the quiz they had everyone at Mega Training take.
There’s no right answer to these questions, but there is a wrong answer. If you aren’t TOTALLY HONEST with yourself in this assessment, if you “fudge” your answer to satisfy your ego, then it’s wrong. And the only one who loses then is you.
So assess your attributes by answering each question truthfully.
1. Do you communicate in terms people can understand and embrace?
2. Do you get things done – deliver on commitments?
3. Do you learn and improve procedures?
4. Do you understand how your responsibility relates to the big picture?
5. Do you listen expertly to others?
6. Do you actively work to improve yourself and to know your strengths and weaknesses?
7. Do you analyze problems and make sound decisions?
8. Do you connect developments and spot patterns?
9. Do you accept risk and take on difficult assignments?
10. Do you inspire excellence and commitment in others?
11. Do you have emotional strength and stand up when under fire?
12. Do you learn from your mistakes?
13. Do you have a deep interest in other people and exhibit strong social and interpersonal skills?
14. Do you have proven acumen – the ability to judge, grow and coach people?
15. Do you have integrity – are you honest with yourself and others?
16. Do you focus on the end product?
17. Do you demonstrate a high tolerance for stress and pressure?
18. Do you confront reality – doing what reality demands, and not what you might want to do?
19. Do you hold yourself and others accountable?
I suggest you print this out and tape it to your bulletin board so you see these questions every day. Circle the ones where you could not give an affirmative answer and make it a priority to WORK ON YOU a little bit every day.
Remember, if you’re not growing, you’re dying. There’s no middle ground.
The goal is always KAIZEN – constant, steady improvement.
Lead from the front, by example.
